2000 years ago
Christians met
Inside stone caves
Secreted in the mountains
And they went down
Into the catacombs
And prayed beside the bones
Hoping for the day
When song and prayer
Would not be confined
To stone walls
In whispers to old bones
For the stone
Was rolled away

The body of Christ
Is not within stone walls
The body of Christ
Is not within stone walls
For the stone
Is rolled away

This Easter
Many mourn
Beloved walls
Beloved wood and stone bones

But the body of Christ
Does not lie behind stone walls
The stone is rolled away

The bones of the body
Are not made of stone and wood
The bones of the body
These dry bones
Dry rib bones lifted
by lungs filled
To shout hosanna
The stone is rolled away
